Peter Ward
Managing Director - EST 1987
Peter Ward founded Ward Demolition in 1987 at the age of 25. He built this company from the ground up. Almost 40 years on, Peter remains actively running the business. Peter’s passion for sustainable practices since the companies inception has shaped the industry into what it is today. His constant drive to seek innovations and improve waste processing has shaped Ward Demolition into one of the largest waste recyclers in New Zealand. He is a pioneer of safe Demolition practices from years of refining Ward Demolitions processes and techniques. Peter has been inspired by world leading Demolition companies such as Brandenburg. He wanted to bring Ward Demolition to a world class level, in winning 2 World Demolition Awards, he has achieved his lifelong goal.
Ward Demolition is a family business, all of Peter and wife Katrinas’ adult children work in the business. Katrina is an exceptional farmer and the managing director of Bush Creek Farms. Peter and Katrina have raised their children with the same work ethic and moral compass they consistently operate with, ensuring Ward Demolitions legacy is in safe hands.
Randal Owles
General Manager - 1992
Randal is our longest standing team member. With us since the start, much of Ward Demolitions success is also a credit to Randals hard work and dedication to the company. Randals background in Architecture, with a Bachelors degree from the university of Auckland, attributes to his extensive knowledge on the makeup of a structure alongside his extensive experience in deconstruction. Randal also has a postgraduate diploma of business in project management, venture management and accounting analysis for business management. Randal ensures projects are run smoothly and teams have everything they need to complete jobs safely and on time.
Bryce Marx
Commercial Manager - 2017
With 29 years of High-rise and Commercial construction experience, Bryce has brought a focus on motivating teams, training and understanding of key outcomes for our clients; while providing structure around systems and process. The benefits for clients of Bryce’s commercial understanding is quickly realised from engagement through to completion. Bryces roles have covered a wide spectrum, Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager, Project Director, Construction Manager and General Manager. With the size of projects ranging from $10,000 through to $100 million, with business management up to $250 million T/). His proven track-record of successful project delivery has been acknowledge by his peers through received National Building Awards for Construction projects. Bryce has a pragmatic approach to ensuring smooth delivery of projects while not losing focus on the project requirements.
Chris Harrison
Regional Manager- 2009
Chris Harrison started onsite with Ward Demolition in 2009. Commencing as a Project Manager quickly moving into Operations Manager and now Regional Manager, covering our operations outside of our main bases of Auckland and Wellington. Chris has always maintained his passion for Health and Safety and has introduced H&S processes during his time to excellent effect. Prior to Ward Demo, Chris worked in the Construction industry for 20 years. Gaining extensive knowledge in concrete and concrete cutting. Having a practical, sometimes outside the square attitude, Chris has made himself integral to the Ward Demo team.
John Wickens
Wellington Manager - 2022
John joined Ward Demolition February 2022, taking over on existing and new projects he hit the ground running. Starting his career with an engineering apprenticeship which lead to a role as a maintenance engineer for a Civil and Demolition Company, this progressed into a site Supervisor role then onto project managing. He was managing large Demolition/ construction projects around 1 million dollars when he took the opportunity to further his career and move to Ward Demolition as Wellington Manager. Ever since he came onboard he has shown immense dedication and passion in his work. Leading the team through some large and technical projects. Including the Wellington Library renovations, alterations to Saint James car park and many more successful projects.
Jyoti Jain
Project Engineer - 2019
Jyoti has a Masters of Engineering Studies in Civil Engineering. Her wisdom is evident through her successful project managing of multiple high profile projects. Including 1 Queen Street, University of Auckland Rec Centre, Southdown Power station, Highland Park Shopping Centre, Waikaraka Park Grandstand and many more. Her dedication to client collaboration and Health and Safety processes has been internationally recognised in the Demolition and Recycling International Magazine see HERE. Her in depth methodologies constructed with her knowledge in engineering is crucial for the seamless execution of the more high risk and challenging jobs. Jyoti works tirelessly on her projects monitoring programmes, updating/ reporting on progress, ensuing every aspect of the projects requirements are met adequately and on time.
Jagjeet (JJ) Singh
Quantity Surveyor - 2019
Jagjeet joined Ward Demolition during a critical period for the company as Jobs demands increased significantly. JJ rose to the challenge, adding value to the project management team with his hard working personality and commitment to his job. JJ has solid work experience in the construction sector. Previously working as a site engineer technician for Fletchers in Fiji. Jagjeet has become a specialist in Tendering and estimating, contract administration, progress claims and variation preparation. Having a team member with the ability to provide urgent cost estimates and quantities in a timely manner is fundamental to our business. JJ’s vast understanding around construction and high-level work ethic are valuable assets in dealing with the high demand of tenders and job quotations.
Josh Parker
Contracts Manager - 2008
Josh began employment with Ward Demolition as a labourer back in 2008, he has been a trusted and hardworking member of our team ever since. Josh’s strong intuition and attention to detail meant he was able to work his way up to being one of our top projects mangers. His effective management techniques kept his team motivated and safe. Josh has a knack for finding faster, safer alternative techniques for tasks, acquired from his years of hands on demolition. Josh’s ability to manage a team of over 100 members on the NZICC (Skycity Convention Centre) fire recovery project was nothing short of miraculous. Josh has trained and unskilled other supervisors passing on his meticulous management technics that prioritise health and safety.
Dalton Ward
Projects Manager
Dalton is one of the most highly skilled high reach operators in the Southern Hemisphere. His obsession with machinery and Demolition was evident from a young age, he has lived and breathed demolition his whole life. Dalton’s skills are so valued that in times of crisis he has managed and trained the USAR heavy machinery emergency response team.
Bayleigh Ward
Site Supervisor
Bayleigh is not only a successful operator and site supervisor (see Southdown Power Station) but also our Content Creator/ Marketing manager. Using her degree in Creative media production, Bayleigh documents many of our projects through photography and videography, showcasing our teams incredible work.
Tyler Ward
Site Supervisor
Tyler is a weapon of mass destruction. Incredibly versatile and hands on, he is the equivalent of three workers in one. From gas cutting, concrete cutting, machine operating, asbestos removal and heights work, he is incredibly competent at it all. Tyler’s hard work, generosity and positive attitude is frequently praised highly by clients and anyone he works alongside.

Wayne Nyman (Farmboy)
Joined Ward: 1992
Farmboy is our longest standing employee, starting out as a labourer in 1992 at 20 years old. He was never taught to read or write as kid, during his time with us he has taken it a ton himself to learn by going to classes. He now writes out his own paperwork and runs his own jobs. He has become an incredible operator in his time, he has a particular knack with small machines that is unmatched, he excels on the tight technical jobs.
Sarath Pahalagedara
Joined Ward: 2006
Sarath is an absolute gentleman. He is always the first to show up to work and the last to leave, one of his many habits instilled from his time operating in Sri Lanka. Coming from a Civil background, Sarath’s steady and smooth technique means for an immaculate finish when levelling a site. Sarath is extremely kind and a pleasure to work with.
Zoran Prijic
Joined Ward: 2004
Zoran is an absolute character, with many stories to tell from his over 30 years in the industry. He worked in Australia in the Demolition industry for 15 years prior to joining our team. His wealth of knowledge and experience is highly valued during large scale Demolition projects. He is particularly skilled at gas cutting and loves to give the young fellas a run for their money.
Frances More (Fridae)
Joined Ward: 2011
Fridae is never not smiling, especially when operating a digger. His passion has lead to a high level of operating skills and an insatiable work ethic. He would quite happily work all night if we let him. Alongside this his constant positive attitude motivates the team to complete projects in a fast efficient manner.
